The Role of Independent Work in the Training of Psychologists in Institutions of Higher Education

The article analyzes the theoretical aspects of the role of independent work in the process of training psychologists. The analysis of scientific sources made it possible to clarify the essence and content of the main concepts of the defined problem, namely: «independent work», «self-education», «professional training», «independent creative activity». The article also clarified that the concept of «independent work» is defined as a type of educational activity aimed at forming the cognitive abilities and interests of the future psychologist, its focus on continuous self-education. Independent work of students is an important component in training a psychologist as a highly qualified, competitive specialist capable of competent professional psychological activity in modern conditions at the level of world standards.

Using the author's questionnaire to determine the quality of the organization of students' independent work, it was established: what is the incentive for them to perform independent work, what difficulties do they encounter during its implementation, how systematically during the semester do they perform the tasks of independent work, what are the methods of pedagogical stimulation of performance independent work they like the most, how often do students turn to the teacher for help in performing independent work, what would they like to have in order to improve the quality of the organization of independent work, are students familiar with the criteria for evaluating the performance of independent work tasks and how often do they visit the educational library institution and city library.

The Essence of the Future Foreign Language Teacher’s Professional Lexical Competence and Its Formation on an Interdisciplinary Basis

The article, based on the analysis of scientific views of scientists, focuses on the necessity and importance of considering the essence of the future foreign language teacher's professional lexical competence and its formation on an interdisciplinary basis. The article emphasises the importance of lexical skills in the context of interdisciplinary relations as an integral part of foreign language lexical competence, describes their specificity and conditions of formation based on the advantages of building foreign language lexical competence on an interdisciplinary basis. It has been found that the presence of special tasks aimed at assessing the ability to use vocabulary in various types of speech activity in all forms of international examinations also indicates the recognition of the particular importance of mastering lexical material. This will help students to form a new vocabulary, an understanding of the sound and graphic representation of a particular lexical unit, and the relationship between a word in a foreign language and its meaning.

The author emphasises that the achievement of a high level of lexical competence is manifested in the free use of direct lexical resources in direct and indirect communication, adequate use of phraseological units, proverbs, sayings, words that are typical for native speakers. The essence is that learning competence is a set of competences for learning foreign languages and cultures in the student's independent learning activities, which is logical, methodological and general in terms of the use of modern educational technologies. Foreign language teaching is based on didactic, methodological, linguistic principles and the use of modern educational technologies. It is noted that the presence of special tasks aimed at assessing the ability to use vocabulary in various types of speech activities in all forms of international examinations also indicates the recognition of the particular importance of mastering vocabulary. Training of Future Heads of General Secondary Education Institutions in the Conditions of Educational Transformations

As a result of the implemented theoretical-methodological analysis, based on research in the field of philosophy, management, professional pedagogical education and own professional experience, it is proved that the formed managerial competence of the heads of institutions of general secondary education is the result of their readiness for practical managerial activity. The content of the phenomenon of «managerial competence» has been supplemented, which is interpreted as a set of knowledge, skills and abilities from the theory of organization of the institution of education, construction of the effective implementation of its structural units, management, legal aspects of the management of the educational institution, strategic and innovative management, management of educational and pedagogical activity, statutory activity, labour resources, content of internal school documentation, information communications, management techniques, audit and evaluation of managerial activity, psychological aspects of management, social and environmental safety of activity, use of educational technologies, as well as the availability of personal and professional qualities for their own self-realization, aimed at the desire for self-perfection, professional development and self- actualization, which the director of the school must thoroughly possess for the organization of both subject-subject relations, and for creating effective internal and external environment, application of managerial technologies, adoption of adequate managerial decisions.

The pedagogical system of forming the managerial competence of the future heads of institutions of general secondary education in the process of continuous professional training has been worked out, which contributes to the qualitative realization of educational process and influences the effectiveness of the formation of managerial competency of undergraduates and represents a set of elements of the macro and micro environment of a higher education institution, united by a unified purpose, interconnectedness, aimed at achieving the desired result.
